2017 US Open Men’s Singles Preview

Hi Guys,

All eyes in the tennis world have shifted their  focus to New York, which only means one thing, US Open is upon us! It is always a very exciting time. I always say being from Canada, The US Open is like my home Grand Slam. Milos says that too. (Raoinic) The bright lights and glitz and glam of the Big Apple always brings out the best in the athletes. It sure is a wonderful atmosphere. It is just absolutely electric.  I think the clear cut favourites are Roger and Rafa especially with defending champ Stan Wawrinka being out due to a knee  injury.  Novak (elbow) and Andy (hip) are out due to injury. This opens the door for anyone in top 20 to have a breakthrough at a slam for the first time. All that being said in my opinion in there is only one guy that can challenge and possibly take the title away from Roger and Rafa if they don’t beat each other in the semis.  On a side note Roger and Rafa Have never faced each other in New York. The US Open is the only Grand slam where the two all time Great’s  have never faced each other. Twenty  year old  very talented German Alexander Zverev  Won 2 tournaments back to back to back this summer an ATP 500 series tournament in  Washington D.C. And also the Rogers Cup in Montreal, which is Master series Event (ATP 100o Series Event.) He also won another master series event earlier this year on clay in Rome. Those events have been dominated in previous years by Roger, Rafa, Novak, and Andy. Zverev has a great all court game, with a huge serve and a above all  his movement is very good.  I predict he will  number 1 in a few years.  It is very possible that this year in New York he will win his Maiden Grand Slam Trophy.
