Rafael Nadal Arrived in Paris too much fanfare last month. The hype for his last Rolland Garros was unmatched pun intended to anything In tennis I have ever seen. Of course this was to be expected For Rafa! He is undisputed King Of Clay and nobody in the tennis world disagrees with that. In my humble opinion everyone in within the orbit of tennis would say that Rafa, the 14 time Rolland Garros is the GOAT Of the surface and that it will be that way till the end of time! The last and what turned out to be and final time Nadal won the French Open was two years in 2022. He beat Norways Casper Rudd in the final that year. Rafael wasn’t able too win the French Open again because he’s riddled with injuries the last few years. Rafa has injury problems his whole entire career. I believe as many in the orbit of the Tennis World believe that is due to his aggressive playing style. I know this first hand myself by getting to see him live and in practice many times at the Indian Wells Masters 1000 Tournament. In Indian Wells California which is a suburb of Palm Springs. The Indian Wells Tournament known to be Disneyland for Tennis Fans. Now back to Paris. As the Draw announcing day was fast approaching, everybody waited to see with so much hype and excitement where Rafa would fall in the draw! Nadal being unseeded and ranked in the hundreds for first time ever at Roland Garros that meant he could face anyone this time around In Paris, even a top 4 seed. That in fact sadly turned out to be the case undisputed King Of Clay. when draw came out everyone gasped me included when we saw that Rafa was drawn to play, the number 4 ranked player in the world Germany’s Alexander Zverev Alexander was the most inform Clay Court player going because won the Monte Carlo Masters 2 weeks before Rolland Garros. Rafa Nada has won The Monte Carlo Masters a staggering and absolutely unbelievable 11 times. Nadal and Zverev Faced Off on first day of Main Draw. Alex took the first set 6-3 it was relatively close and competitive with only break of serve in the first set. There were a lot of rallies. The Second was most competitive one Rafa ended up loosing a Nip And Tuck Tie break. After the the wind really went out of Nadal’s sails after loosing that pivotal second set. He still fought valiantly in the 3rd set but it ultimately wasn’t enough! He lost the third and final set 6-4. To recap the score of Nadal’s Swan Song Match at the French Open was 6-3 7-6 6-4 At least the King Of Clay will be at the Paris Olympics next month! On the same very court for same Final Goodbye I am very very happy for Rafa! As a life long fan of Rafael Nadal I thrilled for him that he will be able to go out on his own terms! Which frankly a very short time ago did seem likely for Rafael Nadal. Lets go for the Gold Rafa! That would be incredible Send Off to storied Amazing Career! Vamos Rafa!
