Juan Martin Del Potro The Comeback Kid

Hi Guys,  I wanted to talk about the guy I affectionally call the   Comeback Kid  Juan Martin Del Porto. His rise back to top of men’s Tennis has nothing short of absolutely remarkable. After subsequently having to go through 5 surgeries on his right wrist. Therefore forcing Juan Martin to contemplate retirement. Back home in Argentina, he wondered  if could ever get strength back  in his right  wrist. Del Potro returned!   The Tower of Tandil  returned in February 2016  two after a two year absence from the ATP Tour  His tournament back was in Delray Beach Florida, with a large Argentine contingent cheering him on! As there of from South America in South Florida. This was the first time the Big guy was fully heathy. Fast forward six months later to the 2016 Summer Olympics, That’s when Juan Martin really caught fire! beating Novak Djokovic in the first rd. in 3 sets ruckus Very pro Del Potro crowd in Rio. He made it all the way Gold Medal before losing to Andy Murray in very tough hard fought battle succumbing  7-5 in the 3rd set. last summer  Juan Martin  was ranked something 1200 in world! safe to say He was 1200 ranked player in the world ever! in March he won one of biggest titles of his career winning  Indian Wells beating Roger Federer in final in very tight match 7-6 in the 3rd. His Fairy Tale Story continued at Wimbledon making it all the way to Quarter Finals, Before Rafa Nadal in Titanic four set Battle. Fast forward 2 and half months later to US Open The sight of his Maiden Grand Slam Title in New York at Flushing Meadows  9 years ago. He was now at career high Number 3 ranking. and ready take down all challengers. In New York I believe Del Porto was playing better than ever before and show out on the court. hitting his best shot his once again with incredible  force and conviction. He made it all the way to final beating Kei Nishikori in quarters and an exhausted and injured Rafael Nadal. Before running into the Buzzsaw Novak Djokovic in the final. loosing 6-3 7-6 6-3 in a long 3 set tussle.  After the US Open The Tower Of Tandil sits at Number 4 in the World Rankings. One below his career high of Number 3 he reached in August. The Comeback Kid has risen  back to top of the game and it’s been a pleasure to see!
