The Lakers Embarrassing Saga This Season

"Los Angeles, California, USA - October 10th 2010: Exterior of the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, during a home game of the Los Angeles Lakers."

Hi Guys,  The Lakers started the season being very optimistic when LeBron James joined the fold. King James signed four year max contract for $148 Million Dollars with the Purple and Gold but the problem clearly was apparent without a viable secondary star or even a secondary scorer for that matter. The Lakers clearly made a mistake thinking Paul George, the hometown kid, was going to sign with them in the off season. But after spending one year in Oklahoma City with the Thunder, Paul openly changed his mind. I think Russel Westbrook had a lot to do with that. So, subsequently Paul Geroge signed an extension and stayed with OKC and the Lakers were left high and dry, sent up the river with nowhere to paddle too. Because signing Paul George in the off season was literally what they were banking on and when that didn’t happen, they were screwed.

Paul is currently having the best season of his career.  Which therefore essentially forced the Lakers to put a bunch of misfits together on LeBron’s watch. When JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson are your best and newest additions to the team, you have a huge problem! When Kyle Kuzma is second best player, you also have another huge problem. Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram are just simply not that good, very average at best in my humble opinion. Kyle Kuzma will never make an All Star Team! I would be very happy if proves me wrong.

Oh ya, and I forgot about Josh Hart – I mean he’s okay. At least he plays defense and has heart pun intended.  I mean this team makes LeBron’s team that he had in Cleveland last year,  look like an all star team and that’s saying an awful lot. Everything was seemingly a okay until this Christmas Day Nationally Televised game – ABC’s game Up in Oakland against the 1st place Warriors. The Lakers were sitting in 4th place in the Western Conference at the time.  Although they went on win the game, King James got injured and left the game. LeBron did go the Twittersphere a day later to say to his 45 million followers on Twitter that he dodged a bullet but he clearly did not. He went on to miss eighteen games with a severe groin injury. This was the longest  stretch of games LeBron had ever missed in his career to date.

The Lakers proceeded to take a tailspin out of playoff picture to ninth place. When LeBron came back, they just kept loosing. So LeBron together with the Lakers management tried basically to make a trade what was essentially the whole team for disgruntle New Orleans Pelicans, Antony Davis. That move severely backfired when the Trade Deadline passed and it obviously didn’t happen.

In one of games before the deadline, when rumors were around the team on the road in Indianapolis against the Pacers with the proclaimed on the floor, they lost by an astonishing get this… 42 points,. Poor Coach Luke Walton – he inherited a mess as soon as LeBron James got to L.A. and he will obviously be fired at the end of the season.  It’s not his fault at all; he’s just LeBron, Magic Johnson and GM Rob Pelinka’s scape goat, as per usual, when it comes to the King.  The GM Rob Pelinka is not a big fan of the Luke either.

At this point, the season was officially dead. They currently sit in 11th place in the West today sitting at 31-39. Yesterday, they lost to the lowly New York Knicks at world famous Madison Square Garden. The Knicks 14-56 this year.  The New York Knicks, have the worst record in the NBA this season.  So I think that’s all you need to know about the state of Lakers – absolutely God awful season.

By the way, in case you are wondering, the Lakers and Knicks have worst winning percentage in NBA over the last six years.  I don’t think even LeBron is going in to his eighteenth year in October can take them out of the rubble in Los Angeles. We will have LeBron MIA in the Playoffs for the first time since 2005!

Where’s Kobe Bryant??? When you really need him… Laker Nation?…
