Hi Guys,
Today I’m going to talk about the NBA Restart in Orlando Florida on the Campus of Walt Disney World, affectionally known as The Bubble. The craziness of Covid-19, caused the NBA to suspend play back on March 11 2020, which was more than four months ago.
Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert was first player in the NBA to test positive. When the NBA found out Rudy tested positive for the virus, play was immediately suspended. That night all the games that were supposed to be played were canceled right away. I am very happy Adam Sliver took immediate action. It was absolutely the right move to protect players, coaches, and NBA staff. The NBA was the first professional sports league to stop competition.
The NBA Restart in Orlando Florida will have 22 teams competing in Central Florida. The Sunshine State is now the epicenter of the NBA world for the next few months. The Restart will start officially on Thursday, July 30th. On June 30th the players came back to their markets for a week long training camp until July 7th. Between the date of July 7th and July 11th, the teams jetted down to Orlando! The teams are currently in the midst of training camp in Orlando. The training camps officially started on July 9th and will last until the 29th of this month. The 22 teams will play scrimmages against each other from July 22nd to the 28th. From July 3oth to August 14th the 22 teams on campus in the Bubble, will play the remaining 8 games to determine Playoff Seeding. The following two days August 15th and 16th there will be a Play In Tournament in the West and East, for the teams within four games of the 8th seed. I believe this is the fairest way possible to resume play. Obviously the NBA owners thought so too because they overwhelming voted in favour of the Restart. But who knows when the NBA will have fans again in the stands at the arenas. The teams will stay at three different Disney Resorts in Orlando; The Gran Destino, Grand Floridian and Yacht Club. All these resorts are very close to each other.
Finally on August 17th the Playoffs will begin on Campus in Orlando! On August 30th guests will be able to come into the Campus in Orlando. Conference Semifinals will take place August 31st to September 13th. The Conference Finals will take place between September 15th to the 28th of September. At last the NBA Finals will take place September 30th through October 13th.
In my humble opinion the top 3 three clear cut favourites for the NBA title are the Clippers, Lakers and Bucks. The Clippers and Lakers will be in the Western Conference Finals. The Eastern Conference Finals will be between Milwaukee and Toronto. I think the Bucks and Lakers will be in the Finals this year. My prediction is the Lakers will beat the Bucks in six games!
Take that to the bank! You heard it here…. first!!!
