His Fairy Tale Story continued at Wimbledon making it all the way to Quarter Finals, Before Rafa Nadal in Titanic four set Battle. Fast forward 2 and half months later to US Open The sight of his Maiden Grand Slam Title in New York at Flushing Meadows 9 years ago. He was now at career high Number 3 ranking. and ready take down all challengers. In New York I believe Del Porto was playing better than ever before and show out on the court. hitting his best shot his once again with incredible force and conviction. He made it all the way to final beating Kei Nishikori in quarters and an exhausted and injured Rafael Nadal. Before running into the Buzzsaw Novak Djokovic in the final. loosing 6-3 7-6 6-3 in a long 3 set tussle. After the US Open The Tower Of Tandil sits at Number 4 in the World Rankings.
