Hi Guys,
I went to Portland to see LeBron’s Laker Debut. It was great fun, needless to say it was an electrifying atmosphere. There were a lot of members of Laker Nation that came up to Portland from Los Angeles. Some made the long drive up north to the Rose City or some that took the two hour, and some change flight up to PDX. It is only a five hour car ride to Portland from Vancouver, depending on traffic of course. I met people from all over the Pacific Northwest and the surrounding regions even some people from Idaho. Just to think they were all there to see The King is simply amazing! I met these guys at my hotel from Seattle that spent one grand a ticket. My tickets weren’t at that price, but they were more than a few pennies nickels and dimes, for that matter. The game was great. The Moda Center is always a wonderful place to watch a game. Portland (Rip City) The Blazer Fans are die hard fans, which makes Moda Center one of loudest most hostile arenas in The League, for visiting teams to play in!… When the starting lineups were announced the arena was Buzzing! The Blazer fans were in a frenzy when the home team was announced! Then the Purple and Gold took the floor and were announced, and Laker fans definitely made their presence felt, Saving their loudest cheer for King James! Now to game the game, the game was played at frenetic pace. LeBron Did not play a good game despite putting up good numbers scoring 26 points adding 12 rebounds and adding 6 assists. He was not jelling with his teammates. There was absolutely no chemistry. Although there were a few thunderous dunks by the King himself. He had no points in the third quarter and quite a few turnovers in the game. The next highest scorer on the night was Brandon Ingram adding 16 points and 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Those measly stats just won’t get it done in the NBA on a nightly basis. He needed more help from the likes of Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Lance Stephenson and Kyle Kuzma and he just didn’t get it unfortunately… Blazers guard Nik Stauskas had the game of his life coming off the bench to score 24 points. Damian Lilard was the games high scorer 35 points and C.J. MCollum had 31 points. Portland’s efficiency from behind the three point line was the difference in the game, in my opinion. It was the main reason they won the game by a score of 128 to 119.
Seeing LeBron in his Laker Debut was a once in a life time experience that I will never forget, being a life long NBA Fan. Hopefully LA-Bron and his unlikely castoffs will make the playoffs this year! They are off to a 2-4 start in LaLa Land and if they don’t make the playoffs… Coach Luke Walton will definitely be fired at the end of year! So lets hope for the best in Hollywood this Season!
Laker Nation.. Are You Ready?…..
