Toronto Raptors The Northern Uprising

Hi Guys,

This year’s version’s of the Toronto Raptors is the best version yet in my humble opinion. Dwayne Casey is the Coach of the year in my book, he totally changed the team’s playing style. Incorporating the bench brilliantly affectionately known as the bench mob. The likes of Pascal Siakam Jakob Poeltl Delon Wright, Og Anunoby and the guy that is the leader of the second unit fan favourite Fred Van Vleet  affectionately known  Steady Freddy.  They were widely regarded as the best bench in the league  this year. The Raptors played at a much quicker pace running the ball on offence basically every chance they got.  Serge Ibaka has done good job being the team’s defense  anchor all year long.  Jonas Valančiūnas  has also played very well this year rebounding well on both sides of the ball and scoring  even when his number does not get called. The Raptors also shot the 3 pointer at a much higher clip this year. The signing of CJ Miles has helped them immensely in that department. But there’s no denying that Demar Derozan  and Kyle Lowry are the head of the snake in the 6! Demar has taken his game to a new level this year. This year he has been practically unguardable . He has shot better than he ever has before and his peers from around the league all know he is the king of the mid range. His court vision has also been on point this year passing out of the double teams better than he ever has before. Kyle Lowry is the other half of Toronto’s all star backcourt tandem, also has had a great year. Running the team with tremendous poise scoring buckets at will and distributing to teammates. He is their leader, Dwayne Casey told Kyle at the beginning of the year that he wasn’t going to play him heavy minutes during the regular season so he would be more rested and ready to go for the playoffs.  So far it has worked as Kyle played his best basketball of the year in the Raptors 1st Rd Victory against the Washington Wizards . Toronto beat Washington in Six Games. They will face a much tougher challenge in Rd 2 against the Cavs starting tomorrow.  All of Canada is saying… We The North!
